Simple Gifts

1. My cell phone went for a trailrun last night without me.

2. Butternut squash babies waved hello from my desk this morning!

FALLING STARS, HER EYES SWEEP

Falling stars, her eyes sweep the inky sky

And as deep within them seem I to fall

Endless in awe, so inspired for my

Words which can hope to capture her at all;

A blush upon her cheek lies there by right

For him that can seek her truest delight;

No rose her lips, no nova her compare,

But envy that brightness that's so the sun;

Beauty such, commanding me but to stare,

By my desires each time newly begun.

Feelings when I hear what no others do,

More of her soul will I know, wonder too.

3. The presence of true friends.
